St. John's Greek Orthodox Monastery established a bakery and gift shop in 2002 to help support the sisterhood and to make the sisters' handiwork and traditional Greek food and pastries available for sale to the public. The bakery/gift shop is located near mile marker 24 on Highway 97, approximately 10 miles north of the town of Goldendale.
The bakery always has classic Greek favorites such as baklava, tsoureki, mousaka, stuffed vine-leaves and many other tasty treats. Phone orders can be made to ensure that your favorite food will be ready when you arrive. The sisters will prepare large orders for dinners, parties, etc.
The gift shop features Christian gifts, the sisters' beeswax candles, incense and natural soaps and lotions, books about the Orthodox Faith, cassettes and CD's with traditional Byzantine Chant, and much more. Most of the gift store items are available by mail and custom orders are available.
